The albums in this section compile music Jim made in the first seven years of his recorded output, 1990-97. This was an embryonic time of experimentation, of trial and error, during which some personal hallmarks began to emerge. The music he recorded from 1998 onwards has been compiled via aesthetics, whereas the Early Days series constitutes a kind of 11-album Selected Ambient Works.
